Mattie

Mattie is a Dartmoor/Quarter horse cross pony. He came to Little Creek when he was 4 years old and has been working with Stride Ahead for many years.

Mattie is trained in hunter jumpers and dressage, but mostly likes to hack around in the pasture these days. He has distinctive dapples on his back—or "leopard spots”—that show up brightly in the summertime.

Mattie can take a minute to warm up to new people, but once he gets to know you, he is very sweet. He likes to stick to himself in the pasture, but does enjoy some of the bigger horses’ company. Mattie has been known to give "back rubs" by nuzzling people’s backs for treats.
